Morocco
Just thought I'd start a new thread as one or two others have mentioned the idea of spending Christmas & New Year in Morocco, so it might be a good idea to get everyone in one thread to compare plans.
We're planning on heading to Tarifa for December and then over to Morocco either just before christmas or between christmas & new year. Probably looking at staying over there for about a month. Noting finalised yet but be interested in seeing where and when anyone else is heading over. Our only timescale is we have to be back in Mainland Europe before the start of April to comply with the dog's passport regs...

Re: Morocco
Very interested to hear how this goes, my plan is to go over there for a bit of a long term sabbatical over Winter 2011-12.
Have fun, and if anyone is fluent in Darija I'd love to speak to them and learn it, or as much as I can in a short timescale. I'm also building a wooden surfboard to take with me, which is why I'm spending so much on getting the van all sorted for living in for a while.

Re: Morocco
Am seriuosly considering it nearly finished the mechanicals on the syncro so will be looking at the interior next and start saving to go away. Was checking out ferries yesterday, last ferry to santander from uk is 2nd of november and would be alot cheaper than driving through france. But shall do a bit more research. Would like to go south a bit aswell possibly down to mali will have a look at some routes and put them up

Re: Morocco
Keep us informed if this happens. Can probably supply a place to park up, eat, drink and use of facilities in the Granada area of Spain.

Re: Morocco
Hi All,
Just saw this post and wonder if there are any fellow Syncro owners scooting round Morocco at the moment? My wife, 1 year old son and I will be driving down from Scotland at the beginning of April for about a month. No specific plans other than a week or so climbing Toubkal. Any recommendations?

Re: Morocco
Deffinately up for a trip to Morocco this Christmas and New Year. I can join you in Santander if you decide to take the 24 hour ferry from either Plymouth or Portsmouth. Quite happy for everyone to park up for the night at my place before heading South.

22 months on and the thread re-awakens....
Still be a good plan again, but not sure where we'll be this coming New Year.

Haha, yes I had a slightly blond moment and forgot that we are actually in 2012 now, not 2011... Got all excited that people were talking about going across at the same time as me...
Thanks for invite Rob but we are coming from Scotland so getting return ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam then driving South. Getting to Portsmouth is a bit of a mission and we try to avoid England wherever possible
