Well, the engine rebuild is progressing slowly but at leaast in the right direction. Just waiting to see whether I am going to have to get a compete new set of pistons and liners which will make a big hole in the budget.
One job that I have made some headway on is getting the leisure side electrics sorted. Everything now runs from one fuse box that takes its power from the leisure battery. I've put in wiring for maplight, stereo, extra 12v socket, CB, Propex, fridge / waterpump, a Zig battery monitor, all interior lighting. While doing this I had the fridge out for better access and tried to get it running on gas. Spent hours on it no avail

- think I'm eventually going to join the compressor fridge gang. It makes sense anyway although I'd rather be spending any money on engine bits at the moment. Anyway the b@r steward is back in and still only working on 240 and 12 volt.
All good fun though and looking forward to a few days at the end of the week on a moor near here doing a bit of wild camping and walking - got to keep using the bus for what its intended for.

It could get quite depressing when you look at how much needs doing but I guess I've had old VWs all my adult life and you get used to it - although owning a Syncro does add another dimension! Cooper please take note and remember when it is all working its the best fun!
