I think now, even if i had the chance to change my final drive i wouldnt. Mine will work out pretty similar to yours
60mph = 3000rpm
70mph = 3500rpm
I dont think we need much more than that? I will have a cruising speed of 65mph, which i think is perfect.
I think if you go for
0.77 would give 72mph
what rpm would that be a 55-60mph? would you have to be changing down?
tom i`m presuming you have the 0.85 4th in an akg box, if so why dont you just fit the 0.78 vw 4th. that would be a very cheap upgrade and you`d go from 65 @ 3000 to 71 @ 3000.

I just trawled back through this thread and in the very informative post by Aidan that I had forgotten about he mentioned this too.
Looks like a good idea if a decent one can be found.
How would I find out my gear ratio's on 1-4th gears to fill out the chart for my van with a AHF with 5:43 fd? I want to double check my rev counter and make sure its set bob on.
