You can find further syncro specific information on the Syncronauts website.
the only problem with a lhd is that whoever is sitting in the passenger seat always pulls the handbrake for you whenever you stop( force of habit)
you have got a lot to choose between with a lhd and can pick up a decent one for under 3 grand and if you cant get used to it then converting it to rhd will still not put you anywhere near your upper price limit.
my advice would be to put that cash in a high interest account cause this could take a while

I dont want to send another grand on lpging it. When i can get a diesel.
Why isnt anyone selling a rhd diesel then?
Yeah, coz you have found lots of diesels.......
Eh??? What I am saying is in 15000 miles the LPG conversion has paid for itself and then is saving you money.. Seeming as you aint found a TD van either and What extra you might have to pay to get TD one.. anything with a 1.9 AAZ etc or TDi will be costing a good bit more as prev owner has invested in it..

I got a rough estimate 3-4k to convert lhd to right.

Cooper, for a pound a day (on your mileage) the 2.1 is so much nicer to drive than a 1.6TD, also (probably not that important to you now but maybe later) its different, its a real VW, its heritage, its authenticity.
round and round and round we go.......... Again..........
I'm done.......... I really cannot offer any more advice than I have... (and many others)
Please go look at Delicia's and Bongo's....... They come in TD, 4wd, RHD, are cheaper, newer and less rusty (generally) and do as good mpg (so I am told) and prob lots of cheaper parts available too...
Well thankyou for your advise but im just looking at the moment to see if anyone puts there rhd diesel syncro up for sale. Im not interested in delicas or anyother make of vehicle thats why i am here.
All the advice in the world isn't going to change this Uni educated, welding (women that weld reminds me of flash dance and makes me happy) mind changing lady.
She's after a RHD, none rusty, diesel, mechanically sound syncro with rear locker possibly in white.
She's got a budget of around £6500 with some cash spare for repairs that this elusive vehicle may have!!
She can't travel down the road to view a vehicle but may travel to south Africa or Australia.
I think that's it in a nut shell please do tell me if I'm wrong?
Now let's all look for her and view them if they are local.

This thread has got me motivated to keep mine and put PAS on it for good measure! Then a quickie carb'ed MV made from 2.1 leftovers and lpg, ooh the joys of spring, I'm mega-motivated right now!
Who's that strange woman in the kitchen crashing around? Ah, it's the mem'sahib! Thought I recognised her when I came in from the garage
