Hi all, I've finally managed to get a shed to work from to get on with trying to sort out the bits and pieces in Hector my 87 Komet which are long overdue i'll try to post up pics as i go along for advice/general amusement etc have been inspired by the great work i've seen done on here previously

The sill is completely shot and a bigger hole than i thought still all part of the challenge, the previous owner has repaired the side panel below tyhe fridge with a panel stuck on with filler and stuffed with a scrunched up copy of the Times by the look of it so at least he used a quality newspaper .
Autohomes seemed to fix the ply floor lining with nails straight through the cargo floor so im going to be busy with the vactan i reckon

Yup planning to do it section at a time, i ve got the shed rent free for 3 months so hoping to push on with the "easier stuff" quickly to leave more time for the head scratching stuff

How has the floor got that bad? fridge? or a window leak?

The fridge i think but a previous owner has done a bodge on the fridge side panel which to be fair i suspected when i bought the van a couple of years ago, until now tho i havent had an opportunity or cover to strip it and see how bad it really was. I ll read over the Jambo posts again as you look to have done the same areas

Will be following your progress, as my bodywork is next on the cards to tackle once the snow has gone, and temperatures are warmer.

Ouch, that looks like you've got some work to do there. I've got another van to do later on, in April, if all goes to plan, with an even worse looking floor

was hoping to get more pics up but at this point 2 things happened,

1. My new grinder broke it's drive shaft
2. Camera battery ran down

It's easy to see how the seam rash happens tho, I think it's been mostly window seal leaks in this case, i did however play with my welder and found even on its lowest settings working with flux cored gasless wire it was hard not to blow holes , decided to use gas mig instead and found it much easier to control,
