with having 4 kids i have to be resourceful, i dont want my van to look like ive spent thousands on retrim. yeah they look nice but i dont think there very homely. remember this is my house on wheels! the rear belts are lap belts i just chuck them over the back so it looks better.gdaddy1980 wrote:Good idea suppose that's a thought for now..glue on the foam and use a throw for now..hmmm, did I also see on you rear seat a seat belt looping over back rest?? Re: first timer interior refurb.....
I have done cars before but only ever did mechanics but they always looked a mess with dents everywhere.
Had all the stuff covered for one price so dont know what it was broken down. I know what you mean about the homely thing. It is very clinical in mine but also easy to wipe down and get clean again. I sold my pride and joy car to do it as i never really drove it so thought it was being quite selfish and decided to try and have some family fun instead.

Cheers mate. What you gonna use to power the subs wattage wise? i have been thinking about it but not got a lot of room but would like to get at least one in there somewhere. I have seen a 5 inch bass tube so think i would be able to hide them but dont know if they would be any good.

Re: first timer interior refurb.....
It all depends on what music you listen to really, I listen to rock, punk, heavy rock with a big of reggae hip hop so quite punchy bass/drum lines and I would not really go bigger than 12" my last subs have actually been 10" and have been plenty punchy enough, Rockford fosgate do a nicer 8" sub, but never seen 5" subs but would of thought a pair of decent 6x9 speakers through an amp would be just/if not better.billybigspud wrote:Cheers mate. I got a set of 6x9's in there so was going to put them on a 300w amp. Wanted something a bit more though. Think I am going to have to get creative with space. I reckon a pair of twelves will be quality. Last decent sound system i had was in a mk1 gti but some sh!t bag stole it. That was my first car so some years ago now .

Yes I used to be a boy racer a few years back so sitting in car parks seeing who has the loudest stereo..etc, (bit sad really), and I have had many a sound system. I had 2 15" and a 12" sub once which certainly gave you a kick up the a***, but for you wanting a little extra I would say a 10" would be perfect. As for space I used to put mine on quick release speaker terminals so I could whip it out of the boot when needing a bit of extra space..or maybe use an end panel on one of ya units, say...behind drivers seat?billybigspud wrote:I got a set of 6x9's in there so was going to put them on a 300w amp. Haha yes kingdaig I know what you mean, I did race an old lady on her bike the other day up hill, with some double clutching and a tail wind I managed to just catch her up by the brow of the hill but on the downhill leg she Peddled like a demon and left me for dead...lol, but as my grandad always used to say to me....wooooooow there boy, weres the fire??? Lifes about living not watching as it fly's past....
