Re: Where's Cooper?
looks very shiny!
the horizontal seam on the rear quarter panel (should be roughly where the bumper end cap is) looks to be missing, could just be the picture? that is a common rust area. Towbar seems to be a different type to the usual syncro model
It does have a nice look to it, but fresh paint can hide a multitide of things.......

Re: Where's Cooper?
Ex panel van as well....those windows / seals always seem to let the wet in and the rot!! Paint does look very fresh! I would want a close look first before parting with the cash. Good luck!!!

Re: Where's Cooper?
I think I saw a van like that one on Ebay a little while ago in some sort of farm or field in a right old mess. Probably not the same one but I have never seen another conversion like this as a Syncro before.

Re: Where's Cooper?
There is a serious lack of ventilation in that camper. Only one opening window in the back! Doesn't look like there is a roof vent either. This would be a condensation trap. It's a shame on a respray when the door shuts are all old and manky and the outside is wet shiny. The horizontal seam is missing, I would suspect big rust in that one. Would need a very careful going over. I would like to get a hammer and tap around underneath and see if it rings true.
without seeing the beast in the flesh it is easy to surmise that this is a quick turnaround profit maker, rather than an enthusiasts vehicle.
Still, everything has a price.

Re: Where's Cooper?
Oh, Sorry!...Didn't see this before I posted on another thread.
The camper is genuine leisure drive, not a homemade interior....All nice and clean, with a couple of scuffs/minor splits in the bed area.
The van had a new lower panel fitted on the drivers side (at the bottom, between the wheels)...and the front steps repaired...All seams are present, but may not be viewable on these pics (the snow doesn't help!)
I didn't think vans could have opening rear side windows on the sliding door side?...for obvious reasons! (other than in the door)....Wouldn't want to run the risk of trapping a head would we!
There is no evidence of damp at all in the camper...The inner windows and headlining/side linnings are all very dry...As is all of the wooden fittings...Including the rear wardrobe/cupboard which are nearly alawys damp at their bases!
The camper neither has had, or requires any welding work done underneath...The chassis is rock solid, as are the inner/outer sills.
The only rust that I can see on it, is located in the very corners of the rear engine cover...Where it has some wadding/sound proofing?
The camper has nearly 12 months MOT and nearly 6 months tax!
All New...
Belts
All Filters
Oil
Rocker cover gasket.
Heater Plugs
Brake cylinders
Front pads
Fuel guage doesn't work!
At £6500 cash....This van is not expensive at all.
Remember.
This van was registered in 1987, with 1 owner until 1992...Then the next guy had it until 2011!...It has not been passed though umpteen hands over the years!
IMO, compared to many that I've seen ....Someone is in for a bargain!
Available to view this weekend (Sunday)...If not sold before! (but work may dictate that again!
)
Cheers for loading the pics.
