What are the comments about 'auto'' cooling circuit?
The photo shows a clutch slave cylinder!

I haven't checked mine but think the hose with bolt in may be the front cabin heater.

StuM photo is of the early system by the two rubber hoses going forward on the left side.

Could the Elephant trunks be for an old cabin heater,Eberspacher etc, they seem to be heading for the air intake. Also I am dying to know where the coolant pipe with the bolt actually ends up.

There is no pipework connected to the expansion cap, that could be interesting when it gets hot.
Doesnt look like any anti freeze in the tank either.
The two flexi hoses are meant to go into the air intake, they may have perished.

i traced all the pipes 2day and found that the pipe with the bolt in goes into the 'coolant distributar' as show in the diagram. The main red pipe , bypass pipe and heater pipe and all going to the coolant distributar so the only pipe left is the auto trany cooler pipe which is the one with the bolt in :) thanks everyone for your help.

Also i found that the elephant trunks go into the aire intake box as shown in the picture below. does anyone know what they are for and do i need them ?
