I'm getting a 2,0 petrol motor transplanted in to my bus in March and tonight I have draw up a contract between the guy (also a VW T3 fan) and myself.
The guy has done several transplants (including his own which as now done over 15000kms) and is a professional motor engineer.
We have sourced the donor - it's a Passat with an ADY motor.
So far I have the following:
Donor motor.
Hone the barrels.
New rings if required.
Skim cylinder head (if required).
Fit new cylinder head gasket.
New timing belt.
New Aux belt.
Bus.
Fit ADY motor with JX 1,6 TD sump and oil pick up (snorkel).
Fit Passat catalyser and exhaust (this is required for the Green sticker and reduced tax).
Fit Passat Air Filter.
Fit Passat Active Carbon Filter
Fit new reinforced clutch.
Fit new Pilot Bearing
Fit new Thrust Bearing
Position immobiliser and key together
Mount ECU behind rear light (left or right)
Inspect and replace if required the Clutch actuating arm.
Check and replace, if required, the Gearbox shaft seal.
Check and replace, if required, the gearbox driveshaft flange seal.
Regrease and, if necessary, replace all four CV joints.
Replace all fuel lines.
Replace engine oil and filter.
Replace Air Filter.
Clean out fuel tank.
Fit/mount fuel pump.
Get everything inspected and entered on the log book
Get Green Sticker.
Can anybody add to this, have I missed something.
Thanks

Re: Motor Transplant - Contract
Sounds quite specific contract!
engine bars/mounts etc - all that jazz.
Biggest/most time consuming is build/fit/adapt golf wiring loom.

Re: Motor Transplant - Contract
It is quite specific but with a list like this we both know what is being done.
So, hopefully, there will be no issues later.
I with the guy last night.
He had a similar list - so a deal was struck.
Transplant date is 24 March. He does a drive in drive out service for a reasonable price and is, therefore, quite busy.
Cheers Elvis, I'm dumping the JX so have the correct mounting bars. The guy has no problems with the wiring.
