Headlight switch!

Post by Beastypete »

Help! My headlight switch has started smoking found the problem due to a damaged coil in the base. My friend gave me a replacement, didn't match the pin set up ordered one from rccimport which I thought was a matching part number, didn't match the pin set up, anyone know where I can get a headlight switch with the part number 251 941 531q?

Thanks for the reply Martin but the 2 versions shown dont include my model number with the q at the end, I've already bought one incorrectly and it was totally different for the sake of a single letter missing

The letter at the end is the supersession letter...there are only two types (one with dim dip the other without). Supersession letters represent improvements that have come about over a parts production life. You just need to determine which of the two switches you have as you obviously got the wrong one last time.
(Dim dip is when you turn the side lights on, and then the ignition and the headlamps turn on but glow dimly)

I stand corrected :oops: ....just give Brickwerks a ring and I'm sure even if they haven't got it in stock they will know where to get one from.

Gutted brickwerks let me down. Bought a none dim dip switch after their advice (many emails and photos sent) and it doesn't fit! I think I'm going to have to buy a switch socket and a different switch and rewire accordingly. No one seems to have a 10pin switch anywhere

I have exactly the same problem now but unfortunately the t25direct says: "The product page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable." Can anyone help me please.

Thank You!

If there is anyone else who is steel looking for this type of headlight switch, I recently found and bought from here:
http://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/ ... pl?lang=en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You just put the part number, just like this, without any other caracters:
251941531T
That is all,
Greg
