New syncro doka and the life of a JX

Post by hugomonkey »

Since my caravelle syncro has become a long term project and i can`t bare to look at all the shiny new parts on the shelf in my garage i made the only possible decision and bought another syncro, a doka with front and rear lockers a new MOT( dont have to worry about that for a couple of years) and a seemingly healthy JX.
So here comes the million dollar question; How do i keep the JX alive???? (apart from taking it out and leaving it in the corner).
i know that AAZ or TDI is probably the way to go but the danish taxman is not very understanding and would probably demand a very large wad of cash if they found out that i was even considering it!! So what is the way to go if i want to give my JX the best chances, apart from the obvious regular servicing, What have you all tried and how succesfull were you?? im talking oil coolers, oil type, charge coolers, webasto heaters etc etc
What works?????????
Regards

Im looking at fitting an reconditioned SB pump, reconditioned injectors and a charge cooler to my JX - Im trying to get about 85 bhp. Its finding the time to do it though. I have an oil cooler fitted just to help it along. Fit bigger wheels for an easier cruising speed
