starter motor ?

Post by jeffdub »

my vans always been a bit on the sluggish side starting so i got a new battery and solenoid for the starter motor just been to pick my lad up from football and it wouldnt start , just turned over really slow as if the battery was flat , checked the volt meter and batteries fine turned the key again and it fired up im thinking it may be a bad earth or the cable from the starter to battery any ideas anyone ? thanks jeff

I take it you mean from the auto transmission ? Cos you don't have 'sump bolts' or a 'sump' as such on a wbxer

Could be the 'sump plug' which has a copper sealing washer or a front or rear crankshaft oil seal. Clean up and see what it's dripping from :?
