Whoops! Sorry about the typo Micky...

Any views on my "syncronauts answer to Grayson Perry" theory (now there's a mental image!)

Sounds like typical JK advertising.

1st Syncros produced in 1985 model year (late '84) so it's not really going to be a huge problem I suspect.
VW model years run from the previous August iirc
What a long strange trip it's been

Cooper - I know how you feel with the syncro fever. I had it bad last year, and after losing out on a couple of vans which were outside my budget, i bought a van for about £4k after quickly checking it out myself.
In the past year, i've spent about £1,500 just on mechanical issues, including £861 to get it through it's MOT (just got it back today, feeling very poor!)
Don't rush into buying something, and please make sure you get somebody who really knows T25/syncros to have a good look at it beforehand.
I had the very unpleasent experiance of a wheel coming off on the M25 whlist driving it home - had i checked that the previous owner had installed longer studs before fitting alloys? Nope - i didn't even know to look.
Be careful, and don't rush this. I definately wouldn't go buying something from abroad without having it properly checked over by somewho really knows these vechicles.
Having said that, I now have a van which will hopefully give me lots of enjoyment over the summer months this year :ok
Ben

Clive a.k.a. HarryMann is also a Herts resident. You can never know precisely what goes on round here!

(sorry Clive, very cheeky of me)

Cooper, You must simply have a talent for pushing all the right buttons. This thread has certainly livened up the Winter doldrums at 80-90!
