Floor Covering Supplier?

Post by Mark S »

Dear All,

I'm running an '87 Westy Joker. About 10 years ago, I installed a commercial-type carpet over the stock vinyl floor for extra comfort. It looked the DB's for the first few years but is now pretty threadbare. I am looking to replace it with something hard-wearing and easy to clean, and was thinking blue and white padded industrial vinyl/lino with big checked squares. This will match the curtains (my wife is quite particular about this sort of thing). Does anyone know a good place to pick up this sort of thing, or have any going spare? Am based in SW.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Billy, I'll take a trip to Carpetright then. It doesn't look as though they've got any in that pattern on their website, but they may well have something in the store that will fit the bill.

Blue and white check in one piece vinyl is hard to find. You may be able to order it from another store. Hedge end southampton is the one i got it from.

I found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310326911681? ... 1438.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and have ordered a sheet. £24 for a 1.2 x 1.3 m section plus £8 postage: not cheap, but I'm hoping it's decent stuff and should last a good few years.

I'll wait until it arrives before endorsing this seller.

To confirm: vinyl arrived very quickly from supplier. I fitted it today and it looks the dog's. Supplier is therefore recommended.

Secured it with double-sided tape and tucked it under the edges of units etc wherever there was a gap. Also used the existing edging strip. It's going nowhere. Now I just need to keep it clean and free from damage.
