Iltis

Post by andisnewsyncro »

Was it anyone from here having a ride round by Speedwell Cavern in a very shiny green Iltis yesterday (Sunday 19th)? Didn't really dawn on me what I'd seen until I watched it go in my rear view mirror after I let it turn round in front of us.

Sadly I was in the "Junior" 4x4 rather than the Syncro

Not guilty.
Although I have heard of one locally, a few mates have asked if I had seen it when they have been to military vehicle events.

Just as well really; "I'm Andi and this is er ... her ... Freelander... " would have been an embarassing opening line

I had a Freelander and loved it. It was a 2009 version and would cruise all day at 90 mph, served me well in the quarries and drill sites for the time I had it

To be fair to the FL, it's a top little vehicle for what we need.

Bought it to replace the MK3 GTi that Laura had for about 4 years. It was the best value for money car we could find in the area - Td4 manual, good service history and drives well. It's no "extreme off roader" but it IS a good solid mid size car with a decent 4x4 system.

And it does 38 to the gallon on average which is a real bonus, she gets a decent mileage rate from work. It's almost paid for itself in 5 months
