I didn't realise that the rear jacking points came colour coded.

So one little jacking point = a respray ?? :rofl

They dont. Read the add carefully and you will see that it has a 51KW engine which is a turbo D

Cooper..... This van has everything you want except a diff lock. The German Public Authorities dont have rusty vehicles. There is too many people now giving advice and its getting out of hand. I doubt if its had a respray. Its got perfect bumpers. Its been kept under cover. Go and buy it as this is a clean van that has not been in the hands of an 'enthusiast' who has had a chance to bodge it up

Yeh its getting a little confusing.
But you recon it will cost approx 2k to fit diff locks?

You need to ask Aidan that question but you dont need two - a rear locker is quite enough

Both jacking points have paint on them and the van looks shiny new. It's one thing if it was only 50miles away but it being a few hundred mile round trip it would be a shame to get there and it be full of filler.

Cooper have you actually asked when it was resprayed?

If I was interested in buying it I would have asked the seller a lot of questions as soon as I had seen it. I would also have put a lot of research into what I was buying before hand.

If I was in the market to buy another Syncro and everything checked out, I would have done a deal before now. :ok

Just for comparison here, and this example is far from mint, but has potential, its a 1989 1.9 Petrol Syncro Caravelle with front and rear diff locks. It has heated from seats, two sets of wheels/tyres. Syncro fitted with a petrol Webasto heater, with engine heater, and electric plug in to power internal sockets. Square headlights with washers, and has the 4 x small mud flaps, which are quite expensive on their own.

All for €570 Euros, and quite solid.

Bad points, interior needs tidying, (You did say Cooper that you planned of replacing interior to make into camper?), no power steering, and engine has a rattle, but for the money, you could possibly end up with a great Syncro with some TLC/£
