fuel pump from just kampers

Post by adihoff »

Hello, I have recently replaced the fuel pump in my 1.9 watercooled Komet conversion. I purchased it from Just Kampers which mentioned that it needed slight modification. I found that the top fuel line was too tight to go onto the fuel pump and in desperation replaced the fuel line with an 8mm line which I found in my garage. Is this terrible. as you may have gathered I do not have any real experience of working on engines but am trying to save a few pennies. Recently the engine has been cutting out when I brake or slow down. I have replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the contacts that pop apart that lead to the solenoid. Can anyone please give me some advice on whether to replace the larger fuel line or any other hints or tips. Tank you.

it shouldn't matter about the hose diameter
BUT..If you fit JK crap you end up spending more than the proper part.
Can I suggest you send it back and purchase a pump from a quality supplier

ps what are the contacts that "pop apart"?
have you got contact breakers or better known as "points"?
