safety test required for gas stove?
I read/ heard something, somewhere about safety certificates being required for gas stoves / fridges in motorhomes travelling in germany.. Is this something thats required in any european countries (e.g france, spain and portugal-guess where im heading next month!)

Nope, although you should have a working Carbon Monoxide alarm (NOT a card disc) fitted as a matter of common sense and if you are in any doubt you should get your gas appliances checked out by a competant person. I'm told caravan dealers can often carry out 'inhabitation checks' and will issue a certificate.

I'm not certain it's a legal requirement for vehicles not registered in the countries you mentioned, but common sense would suggest to me that it's worth having any gas install checked and serviced. I expect your insurance company wouldn't be too happy if you were driving about with a 30 year old piece of flexi gas pipe attached to the regulator. It won't cost much and any half decent caravan / camper dealers should be able to help you
