Retrofitting Projekt Zwo Fogs

Post by Titus A Duxass »

Has anybody fitted Projekt Zwo foglights along with the actual T3 switch and relay?

If you have how did you wire them in, did you make a loom up or was it already there?

I picked up a set of the lights today just not sure if I want to go through the hassle of fitting them.

Cheers

TAD,

I have just done this myself and its simple!
My van is a late model 1987 and has the relay and correct 2 position switch for fog lights.

All I did to make my own loom was buy some cable and a standard relay, oh and an led to show when they are on.
Trace the wire from the fog light switch to the fuse box and tap into it for the relay trigger, I don't know if there is a fog light relay already installed in my van - too complicated to check. I think it was the top wire off the back of the switch - just meter it for 12v when on.

Then earth and fused live to relay, fit the trigger wire and off you go! The hardest part is feeding the live feed to the lights up front - I went through the rubber grommet next to the fuse box under the dash.
Then just daisey chain the live to the lights and earth them under the van and off you go.

I already had an led fitted in the dash from previous owner for something!? So just fed this off the same trigger wire from the switch, earthed it and away we went, so when the headlights are on and ignition is on the and the fog light switch is on, my fog lights are on. All the complicated logic was already there wired in the van, if anything changes in that series then the fog lights go off - as it should be.

They look lush! :ok

Good luck.

Mark.

They do look lush and if they had been driving lamps and not completely useless fog lamps I would have been tempted myself.
But just for 'the looks' I agree they are nice.

Cheers Mark,
I've got to check what the German regulations are for these lamps, I think they have to wired so that they only come on with main beam.

I checked yesterday, no relay (no surprise there) and no cabling in place.

I may just flog them on.

That's my problem as well.
I don't think they'll add to the driving experience.

Hi Titus,

Not sure if you ever got round to fitting these using Mark's instructions but when searching to see how mine were fitted (not sure they are the real thing but fitted the same!) I came across a diagram (Projektzwo foglights -- Wiring Diagram) on this site which was also helpful.

Matt,
Cheers for the link.

I have decided against the PZ fogs and will be flogging them on (xriss on here has first refusal) as soon as I get them clean up and photographed.

Cheers
TAD.
