metal for sale

Post by Plasticman »

well dont know wether this should be here or for sale but...
I am often asked for sheet steel and such so whilst it would be impractical to ship full sheets...would the following make sense
I think it might be usefull to do sections , say strips 1/2" and more by a mtre long or the length for doing window repairs , also folded sections etc, can guilotine any size and fold the same. Im also looking to make a repair panal for the lower part of the frige panal, which would allow the use of the very good aftermarket sill and retain the original contruction, postage will be checked out next week but wont be silly as I have an arrangement with a breakers who courier stuff daily.

No point otherwise,
also see a lot of filler used where new panals join the old,
early days yet, but with sidewindow rep panals the problem with doing the whole length including the curved corners is that not all cut outs are the same  easist way would be for folk to make a template of what ever is needed from stiff paper etc and post it up for a metal copy by return. in the correct gauge of steel.
have sent several in fr JP supports and these could be usefull together with rear jp back supports, think I will start templating these items

Shaped pieces for factory fitted windows that have rotted edges in a few places would be nice.

You may be able to help me.. The rear window surrounds on my van are really bad. I was planing to remove them and weld a pannel back to the metal..

Would you be able to provide the steel for such a job, cut to size would be nice (I can make a template) or is there allready something out there for my problem allready..

This wont be for atleast a month as its 97th on my list of thigs to do.

Regards Jon

metal for sale

I thought for a terrible moment you were selling itself!! I know it's a recession but we have to keep some standards. Excellent idea re metal, the B post supports you sent me were a godsend as I can weld but don't have equipment or skill to fabricate and cut these types of bit. Would like to get panels under fridge to join sides cut out with 8mm holes round sides ...... Cheers for your top support of club members. Tim
