Wow! I had the same problem today, I came on here to ask a question and you beat me to it. I thought it might have been a wheel bearing as well. When I turn left it goes away too! Your not going mad there are others out there too (mad folk)

Does it sound a bit like you have really chunky off road tyres? I couldnt decide if it was tyre roar from the otherwise normal looking tyres?

That doesn't sound right to me....turning to the left loads the O/S which would make the bearing noisier.

I would have bet on the N/S wheel bearings faulty but then I never got to do the diagnosis myself....

Be sure to observe correct fitting and adjustment protocol (do not load taper roller bearings)

Mmm.. I get what your saying, there is a pull to the left when driving so could be n/s

I just got the van a few weeks ago and on my second day out in it, I got to the bottom of a hill and when I stopped there was smoke/steam coming from front n/s wheel. I assumed it was a brake seizing as it hadn't been driven in a while. Gave it a thump and it hasn't come back.

Could this have been the bearing, or, could it have affected the bearing?

While you're changing the bearings (inner and outer) I would renew the discs, and say bye bye to brake fade and over heated discs.

Yeah your right. My bad, must be getting my left/right os/ns mixed up coz im driving a lhd ha ha. If you jack it up an spin the wheels by hand you should hear it anyway just to be sure.
