Foam cushions for cab seats

Post by silverbullet »

Is there a source for these or are they available at all? I don't want to go to a trimmer's as I am quite capable of removing the covers and replacing a bit of foam...
It's the seat portion that I especially need.

There were 3 different part numbers. No idea what the difference was

251881375

251881375A (swivelling seat) (listed on classicparts)

255831375A (caravelle GL)

all obsolete from UK iirc

As said, obsolete. However, I have no probs cutting foam into any shape with an electric carving knife. Go slow and you should be able to sculpt a couple of new ones.

I wonder if "memory foam" as sold on ebay for mattress toppers, in various thickness's, would be any comfier than "standard seat" foam ? ( I bought a 3" thick one for home use = VERY good :) )

OK well they are actually for my '95 SA, the front seats are a bit of a hybrid: Golf Mk2 reclining base with an Audi 80 back and headrest.

Maybe Golf ones then.

Would have helped considerably if you had stated that in the first instance :rollin

I was being coy... That's how VWSA they built them! I think that the base cushion is very similar, if not the same.
Maybe time to talk to my tame trim shop, but they'll try and charge me for just walking in the door
