Have you seen the price?!! now, has anyone ever used "N.E.R. seals" for their bus? If you have, how successful was it? It just seems so cheap when compared to eg. just campers £104-£162!! N.E.R. seals supply for £1.35-£1.58 a foot! Is it a case of you get what you pay for?

I use rubber from C O H Baines.
I paid £3-36p (incl VAT) for 2m. Did not include filler strip.
Depending on your location you may have to add p&p.

be carefull all seals for van s what have had there windows cut into are not the same , some are thicker than others meaning if you get seals what are thicker than original you will have to enlarge the holes cut into your van

Well for starters, JK windscreen seals don't look right. They bulge out significantly. I can spot one of their seals a mile off. Prices for rubbers do vary but I think you do get what you pay for mostly. On a converted panel van it probably matters less than a T25 with factory windows that you want to keep looking original. If memory serves me right, I paid almost £50 for a windscreen seal with chrome infill for my Caravelle (VW Emporium) which although slightly more than cheaper ones, I only intend to do the job ONCE and get it right rather than kick myself forever afterwards because i tried to save a few quid. It also fitted perfectly and I did the job on my own. I've seen three big blokes struggling with a JK one and then it looked odd once in.

That said, i wouldn't pay a fortune for a seal that is hidden or rarely seen. Sealsdirect are a possibility but then you've got the hassle of cutting the length accurately and gluing the ends.

So.. If mine is an after market conversion then the cheap ones should be ok for all except the windscreen. Thanks everyone, this is a really helpful owners site

as Cove K says, use gen vw for front and rear screens, if you buy aftermarket then you will rue the day..

When I replaced my windscreen seal, I also had the obligatory welding on the lip (all in the WIKI in case you need it) but I also used roofing mastic as an extra barrier against water ingress behind the rubber. The surplus was easily removed with white spirit. Must admit, since I did that I've not had one drop of water come in via seal. I'm a little stuck regarding other window seals as I'm trying to preserve all the chrome trim of the Caravelle so that means I have to source genuine (or extremely good copies) but yes on a converted panel van, source the best deals you can with exception of front and back. Take Metalmick8y up on his offer - he's old school like me

Thank for adv CovKid, one last thing to all... how do i know if its a conversion or original? V5 states 'motor caravan' under body type.. my 'guess' would be thats telling me original windows....??

a picture of your widow seal will have us in fastest fingers first to tell you if it was a panel van or a factory bus

and, yes, previous owner had attempted the roller technique and made a right hash of it. I start tomorrow on prep work... I think its gona take a while and ive also dumped those flower things!
