just looking for a bit of advice please , im thinking about buying an eberspacher but there's so many about its confusing ! petrol, diesel 12v and 24v with a converter to 12v , are they easy to fit ? ive noticed there's a petrol one for sale on the forum any help or advice would be gratefully appreciated thanks jeff

Ultimately it makes sense to buy one that matches your engines fuel type. That way you cut into your vehicles main fuel line as it comes from the tank, fit the inline pump on a T off and re-secure.... so as long as you have fuel in your tank you have the ability to heat the van.
Buying a different fuel version means having to rig up a seperate fuel tank...

The only other advice is bare in mind the age of the unit....some of these are 28 years old so will need at least a service before installing.
The Ebbers fitted to Westy's were mounted externally under the O/S floor pan (central position, sliding door side on a Westy) controls mounted on the O/S/R panel next to the R&R seat with air ducting emerging from a vent also O/S of the R&R seat.
Many regard the 'integrated' Ebber design, using fuel from the vehicles main tank as the ultimate system for wild camping freedom. Install a propex and you do have the added worry of running out of gas. Having said this, Propex works fine for most.
