Diesel Caravelle heating solution needed!

My AAZ 1.9td is a great van however both the front and rear heaters are dead... this isnt good in -10 weather!

Now I need to find out whether its cheaper/easier to get these up and running or leave it and invest in some kind of diesel heater?

Are there any good specialists on here who can price one up to run off my existing tank and just how much work will be involved in sorting the original front and back motors out?

Anyone local who fancies taking this on as well

I think you are talking about two things here? heaters as in the ones used whilst driving? are you saying both blower motors have stopped working?
And
Seperate heating (usually refered to as a night heater) Propex/eberspacher type (propex off a gas bottle or Eber which uses the fuel in the tank) these wouldn't usually be turned on whilst driving besides, neither would clear the windscreen so the original front definately needs repairing.

Most opt for Propex as it is an relatively easy addon
Eberspacher systems do come up for sale (there is a petrol one in the 4 sale section ATM) but they do sell for a premium.

So don't buy an Eberspacher.......nothing wrong will them but as many on sale are over 20 years old just be careful that it is fully functional..parts are extremely expensive.
I forgot Webasto....never heard of Mikuni but that doesn't mean that their not good..

I would like a camping heater to run whilst engine is off but I still need to clear the screen - have bought a temp fix by way of a JK 12V Fan heater to get me out of trouble. Plus once its clear its maintained by the rad when up to temp get some lovely warm air through

Not ideal though so will be looking to fix at least the front one - is is likely a new fan or could it be just a fuse/relay?

Easier and cheaper to repair the dash blower, but a bit time consuming.
(BTW This isn't an either/or option IMHO. You defo need a demister/heater fan, but you can also ask yourself "do i need a night heater?" and "do I need the rear blower?"
Demister motor is a whole dash out job, but easy enough if you're confident with the spanners. New blower motors available HERE if needed. Check wiring/connections/fuses before you rip it all out . Once out, it might be seized but "freeoffable". Give it a squirt of easing oil on the bushes and turn by hand. Spin it til it's nice freed off, connect it up and see if it runs smoothly and quietly. If so, put it all back - happy days!

You could also go for a night heater if you feel you need one and don't mind spending a few bob.
There's one HERE which is pricey but at least the guy can show you it working before you spend!

I wish my Webastos made that sort of money!! HL32 makes between £200 and £300, Airtop 2000 £150 to £250.
Webastos are cheaper.
As he is local ....County Antrim will be no bother to see before buying. ( He may be in Oz for all we know!)
