Re: Battery booster
Battery charger/engine start is what I use if ever have flat battery, which has only been once. (solar panel keeps it charged)

Re: Battery booster
I would recommend a good battery, and well maintained, you'll never need a battery booster.
fit an isolator switch to remove the possibility of any drain.
recharge at least once a month if doing short trips.
A UK code 096 fits in the box and offers 75 cold cranking amps.

Re: Battery booster
Agreed - you shouldn't need such a device, get your electrics up to scratch and you won't.
That Ring battery charger gives you enough power to turn your engine over - on engine start switch (80Amps).

Re: Battery booster
Thanks, that's great. I'm considering getting one as you never know when the battery is low and it could get me home when it is. I like to be prepared

Re: Battery booster
Is it the cover that won't close?
My cover is flush with the top of the box
it is a uk code 096 isn't it?
the euro code 096 is too tall

Re: Battery booster
No such thing as a Euro 096. 096 is the the British battery manufactures association code( BBMA) and is to tall. Just that some continental manufactures sell the equivalent output battery in a lower case which is the equivalent to a BBMA 010 and use it for an 096 as well.

Re: Battery booster
interesting.
i have bought three 096 batteries from various shops over the years and none have been too big.
have i been just plain lucky?
I think not..the evidence sits in my van
If I stand corrected on the euro battery, is it the case that there's a right old mix up here

Re: Battery booster
I think there are slight variations between van models you know. Mine sits 10mm proud - has on every one I've ever bought. I have to leave battery lids up. Long term plan is to cut out bottom of battery box and make up a 10mm recess. It wouldn't make any difference underneath but would solve the problem for good. As it is, I have to place a sheet of rubber over battery to avoid terminals potentially shorting out on seat base.
As for battery boosters, I agree, sort out the electrics. You could always carry a spare battery though. I do for weekends away.
