Hello all, I've noticed in a few of the modern conversions the flip down LCD/LED/DVD/Freeview combo boxes, where the screen flips down from the front roof storage area (if you have a high top) and you can load a DVD in the unit as well. I've checked the Wiki for Multimedia/TV and it just quotes Stereo wiring etc.
What do people recommend and have in their vans and what works? I've seen this one of on Fleabay, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-2-LED-Flip ... 9196885976" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Is this any good or is there any cheaper options/ways available?
Thanks in advance.

I mounted my 13" Flat screen on the C collumn. To watch my own movies, I use my Archos plugged into the TV. This particular TV is 12 volt as well as 120 here in North America.
I also have cable installed in the Westy for when cable TV is available at some campgrounds.

Re: DVD/TV Fixing and Recommendations
My TV/DVD is mounted in the gap between the cab seats. The bracket fixings are self tappers that screw into the 'B' pillar roof cross-member. I had to pack out the bracket (with nuts and washers) to avoid the protruding lip under the high top cupboards.

Re: DVD/TV Fixing and Recommendations
If you want cheap you could do what I did. A 12v freeview box, a spare screen from a DVD head-rest set glued to a suction mount for a satnav, and an aerial all from e-bay for less than £20 in total. The only problem was you needed to be in a good signal area to get reception without a 12v signal booster. One other thing to consider is if you leave the TV in the van over the winter will condensation kill it?

Probably not as it'll be stolen long before condensation can form. I never leave the TV in the van if I'm not using it.BOXY wrote:One other thing to consider is if you leave the TV in the van over the winter will condensation kill it?
