brembo ft discs. Part nos.

My heads in bits trying to order the right front discs for my camper. Help please.

I got F reg t25 registration early feb 1989.

brembo part nos 08 5177.20 fits oct 84 to feb 89
08 5177.10 aug 82 to july 92. All others detail look the same.

Is there a difference or will either fit?

Brakes changed on these vans in for 1986 model year. Where are you buying from? Have a look at Brickwerks for the correct ones. Cheap brake parts is very false economy

There is early and late as far as the discs are concerned...those part numbers and production dates are very confusing as they don't back up what we know is true:
Early is something like 1979 - 1986 and late is from about 1986 - 1991/92 (early solid calipers or late single piston floating calipers)
Now there were different makes within the calipers (ATE & Girling) but as far as disc's and pads go it's either early with square pads or late with cresent shaped pads so that might be a way of establishing which discs are correct (you need late with cresent shaped pads)

The wheel bearings are also different between early and late.

Hi yes I know about the brake change from early to late type. These brembo brakes are the correct size 258 dia with 45 centers, but there's two different part nos for what appears to be the same thing?

Are you telling me brembo are crip and Im wasting my time anyway?

Nothing cheap or low quality about Brembo...they are often fitted by many manufacturers from the factory.

86 on 2wd discs are the same smaller diammeter than the early ones for twin piston calipers

Of course....good point, syncro's are different again as the whole front upright/hub/disc/caliper are designed to except a driveshaft.

I should have said that there are two different disc's (early/late) on a 2 wheel drive transporter range, circa 1979 - 1991.
