So we are going into Campershak in Feb to have our LPG conversion fitted.
We've then got a long weekend and would rather spend it in the van rather than coming home.
Any recommended sites or things to do in that part of the country?
Thanks,
Grantham

Re: Grantham
Not many sites local, you could try woodland waters at Ancaster or The Rutland arms at Woolsthorpe..The Bishop wrote:So we are going into Campershak in Feb to have our LPG conversion fitted.

Places to go....Belvoir Castle, poo that will be closed. You could stand and look at it from the outside! Clumber park is about half hours drive away and so is Rutland water, bring your bikes...about 19 mile round trip.
The Peak District is about an hour away, Matlock Bath, Bakewell or Ashbroune
Lincoln is a nice place, Nottingham is good for shopping..
Skegness in Feb

Im still thinking..

No it's not. Winter's the best time, before the bloody holiday makers come along and spoil it.

Yes, there's Woodland Waters at Ancaster - not far from Grantham but not a lot round there though. We've also stayed at a small site with hook-up just outside Southwell which is a pretty little place. There's a larger site at Holme Pierrepont (National Watersports Centre) which is only a few miles outside Nottingham if you want to visit the city. Places to visit - Clumber Park's nice, Edwinstowe (Major Oak), Rufford Abbey.
Also a shameless plug - I've got gigs at the Black Market in Warsop (nr Mansfield) on 9th Feb supporting Ferocious Dog, Dan Donelly and Jon Sevink (Levellers) and on 25th with Ferocious Dog, Leatherat, Shanks Pony, Pressgang and Seven Little Sisters.
Oh, and I can't think of anything positive to say about Skeg

I can think of two. It's not Sleaford and it's not Grantham.
