inlet manifold water leak

Post by dracsat »

I'm new on here, been lurking and reading for a while now.
got a 1983, 2.1dj engine changed by previous owner (was 1.9dg.) running on a peirburg carb and manifold set up.
problem is water is leaking out of the rear of the manifold, directly below the carb.
is there a core plug in the rear of the manifold and where would i be able to get one to replace, or is there a clever way to stop the leak

Yes there is a core plug under the carb manifold stick a small mirror under there with a light to see it.. I think I managed to cure it temp by a smear of waterproof sealant. Its not that hard to remove the carb manifolds but awkward. They are available, GSF might be your best bet as brickwerks dont seem to sell them.

cheers for that,
already did the mirror thing, just wanted to confirm before pulling the manifold off.
will try the water proof sealant as a temp fix.
thanks
