need help again have just bought 1981 brake calipers of ebay have just realised its for an 1981, My t25 is an 85 but what i have been told so far it has a lot of early bits on it and a lot of later stuff on it. The calipers look identical to the ones i have on mine. will the 81s fit on my van? cheers for any help offered

84 was the crossover year.So i would expect yours to have the later calipers.

I thought '86 model year was crossover, Rob, meaning from August '85 onwards? :?

if they look identical they will fit!

of the early and late there are 2 types(manufacturer) of each .
fit the same make each side.

late and early will not swap as the hubs are different , bolts fit differently

either you will have single(late) or twin piston(early) calipers , the pads are completly different early/late too.

it all confusing me to but parts
as my van has early stuff and late stuff on it

thats cos your in the change over!
doors , suspension , cooling,wiring , brakes plus lots more were upgraded around this time.
85/86 vans can be a nightmare

87 d reg onwards are the better ones

i know my brake pads are square shaped

square pads is early , twin piston calipers

The simple answer is YES....these will fit! make sure you fit both sides and use either the original pads fitted in the same positions or new.
