getting original keys recut

Went to a few key cutters t'other day but none had the correct blank for my drivers door key ('81), I assume for original locks. Said if i can order blank they can cut. Any suggestions where id find the little silver chap?

VW commerical dealers still sell fancy blanks with a round plastic end with a metal vw logo in the middle
