How heavy is the T25 auto box (kg's)?

Big lumps of metals and spanners.

How heavy is the T25 auto box (kg's)?

Post by mm289 »

OK, random question I know

Getting some racking for the workshop to store the spare transmissions and engines I have. Figure the heaviest lump I have got is a spare autobox for Gunther, way heavier than an engine I reckon.

Anyway, anyone know the approximate weight so i can spec the shelving?

Cheers, :ok

no, but I wouldnt have though a box weighs more than a lump. I can pick a box up easy enough , and with an auto I dont think theres much difference, and the converter comes off so....
watch 15 replies giving wet weights etc etc :rofl

about 90Kg, way heavier than the manual box (and heavier than a bare wbx) and don't believe any of those ads that say shelf will support 150Kg evenly distributed :D

Thanks team (thought you might have a fair idea Aidan) :ok

Know what you mean about the 150kg stuff!! Going for shelving with a 350kg limit so should have a bit of leeway.

I reckon the auto is heavier than a block on the basis I can only shove it not lift it, whereas I can carry a block (just about  )

Now have 2 x WBX, 1 x 090, 1 x 1600 Aircooled & 3 rib box, just about to collect 2 x 2000 T4, , thats the downside of doing a bay as well (that came with th wrong engine), still - fancied rebuilding a few Aircooled's having done the WBX should be a piece of cake :run
