Fuel gauge 1600 ct

Post by docwalker99 »

Hi guys fuel gauge not working on van have been told tank sender unit is fine so it must be a gauge problem. I cant find my Haynes anywhere so don't know how to test it. also where on earth can I buy a new one as I can't afford a whole new dash pod.

Thanks David.

couple of things to check before you condemn it
the voltage stabiliser, the relay plate connections (multi pin connector B pin 3 and connector E pin 5)
and the earth connection at the tank
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)

Thanks Kev the garage drained the tank last week and told me sender is fine as for pin connector I can only identify 2 one on the left that works the head lights and a long thin one that connects into the back of the fuel gauge pod on the right both look ok but until I find my manual dont know where to look unles there are some clear photos on here.
