I agree too re the blue lights.
Not that keen on red either.

I prefer a sort of slightly yellowy white colour

I suppose, if you didn't want a disco display all the time, the trick would be to use tri-leds then you can at least switch colours if you get fed up with say ice-blue, fury-red or vomit-yellow. :D

I'm with you on the red. Having tried blue, you soon get fed up with it.

I wanted to put in red but the boss didn't want. Something about keep being asked "how much?" every time we stop :D

Glovebox light finished :-)

Attached one of the LED strips to the inside of the glovebox with double sided tape. Mounted a normally closed microswitch under the dash so that the lip of the glovebox opens the switch when shut. Ran an extra wire from fuse 8 (existing interior light) to the switch and then on to the LED and on to earth. Earthed via the glovebox mounting screws into the bulkhead.
Dead simple and works a treat, no more fumbling around in the dark.

I don't get that much chance to do any fumbling anymore so i'll probably not fit a light if it stops it all together.

Some great ideas in that thread. Love the idea of a light above the engine compartment. :ok

To be honest, I have a 12v neon light under dash on passenger side that is on all the time when lights are on. Its non-intrusive but means passenger doesn't have to fumble around to find anything.. If you open the glovebox, it lights that up too. Pretty much as above only thankfully not as bright. Lot of computer outlets sell them and conveniently they are 12v.
