TDI Harness Conversion service

Post by syncroandy »

I've been working on T3's for a number of years, and have done a couple of engine swaps, various upgrades and so on.

People who know me and the work I've done keep saying to me, Andy why don't you get your finger out and sell yourself. Lately there seem to be many folk wanting TDI swaps, so I've decided to offer a harness conversion service.

Summary follows, with more info via the link in my signature below. Any suggestions and feedback welcomed.

The service provides the DIY or commercial installer with a VW TDI engine management harness prepared for installation into a VW Transporter ->1991.

You provide me with a complete harness as removed from the donor vehicle, and you receive the harness stripped back to just those components required, and modified to suit installation into the T3. All connectors will be labelled, and a wiring diagram included. All extra components used will be to OEM quality, where practicable wiring will use the correct colours as per the original harness.

The modified harness will be supplied un-wrapped, to aid installation. Once the engine installer has determined exact component locations, the harness can then be protected using wrapping tape or sleeving as required. The ECU/relays and fuses should be provided with a suitable protective housing or placed inside the passenger compartment.

The standard service includes connections to the front of the vehicle as labelled, unterminated wire ends on the ECU harness. This allows the installer to determine their preferred means of running the connections to the front of the vehicle. As an extra-cost option (due to material costs and fabrication time) I can also provide a custom harness rear-to-front, and for the dash area. This is a bespoke item, the specification and cost will depend on the base vehicle (diesel/petrol) and customer requirements.

Cost

Conversion of standard, complete, undamaged harness £275
Front/dash harness £from 75
Immo module/key and ECU adaption (subject to availability) £75
Immo delete from £POA
Repair of damage/missing connectors £ At cost (time/materials)

Turnaround time

This depends on current workload, and any extra-cost options required. A standard conversion should be completed in 1-2 weeks from receipt.
