fridge stinky and lighting probs

hi. My fridge works fine on 240v but on gas it stinks, gassy, and is sometimes problematic to light. I use levelling blocks.Can it be fixed? Cheers for your help.

What does it stink of? If it's gas and it's not lighting well, check your gas conectors, pipes etc. Rule that out 1st. If it's lights and then goes out, it will keep allowing the gas out. Before messing with the fridge check with a different canister, if same problem check connectors are on securely and the pipe is good. :ok

NO it won't - that is the point of the thermocouple.

Thats assuming all is as it should be :shock: and as the op doesnt know anything about it then it may have been well bodged,get someone to look at it please.

if it only smells of gas when lit, you can narrow down the leak to between the gas valve and burner, 99% will be the nut at either end. If you can smell it standing up, it would suggest the leak is from the valve on top of fridge. Otherwise the whole van is full of gas :lol:

Mine went stinky and it turned out to be a cruddy burner.
cleaned it and it was OK again
