Re: Anyone else following The Tiger Bus?
Ohhhh Nasty! What was the tyres & engine?
I'm putting 215/70 R16 's on mine which I understand are only 7% over standard 14" tyres. True?

True. I just gave the actual size difference figure taken from the Brickyard site.

Cheers, sounds reasonable.
Didn't syncros also come with 205/14R80's on the 6" steel rims, as a VW option?
Alloys, so that should also help.

Re: Anyone else following The Tiger Bus?
We are watching their travels. Something we would love to do in the future although not as radical. We are thinking about a trip following the coast of southern Europe from east to west and then Morocco. Scandinavia is another part of the world that needs visiting and that a Syncro would be good for and we've not been to at all.
Two offspring at Uni at present which is very expensive. In three or four years time we should be able to ease up though and take some time out. By then the Syncro should be just about sorted!!

Yeah, I know that feeling. Its always it'll be easier/better in a few years. Ours are still in single digits (7 & 9) & I think a great age to go travelling, don't take up too much space & don't eat too much!

But we've just started a new business & the work, set-up costs, improvements have have taken their toll.....But hey it'll all be good in a few years!!

Fancy the good old USofA Rockie route. Amazing sights, huge skies & great healthcare!!

Re: Anyone else following The Tiger Bus?
They managed to get the gear parts shipped from Germany to Turkey, they crossed Iranian border on Sat. They will move on to Pakistan, India and then ship the bus to Malaysia.
