Rear seat regs?????
Hi all. We've just bought a C reg T25 1.9 petrol which we love. The first job I need to do on her is fit seat belts to the rear seats so we can get the kids car seats to fit. I have found the info for seatbelt anchorage points and recommended belts, but I cant find out what is legal or not with the seats these days. She (we haven't had her long enough to find her name out) currently has what I assume is a DIY seat/bed. Not a rock n roll style seat but the back rest un clips and is repositioned to make the foot of the bed. I can't quite bring myself to use this setup for carrying the kids arround. So I would like to know what other people have done. Are rock n roll beds ok? Do I need to be paying top dosh to get a fancy seat/bed to keep up with regs, if there are any?

Re: Rear seat regs?????
Hi, I've had a good look at the wiki. I think I'm going to be spending a lot of time on there from now on.
Lots of good info on the seat belt regs, but nothing to say what is required of a seat. I half assume that as long as the seat belt is anchored to the van body correctly, the seat is not a concern.(?)

nearly right.whilst seasts may be removable , they must whilst carry passengers be fixed locked whatever into position, you cant just have a loose box with lid for examle, the box itself should be secured to the floor or whatever, just common sense stuff really

Re: Rear seat regs?????
I struggled with this aspect for some time and went my own route by building a seat that I felt better-protected my kids than the common wooden types. It wasn't expensive to make but you do need a mig welder or someone who can weld it up for you, Mine provides better protection in the event of a side swipe, protects my LPG tank and drops down level with the engine hatch which many rock & roll beds don't. Its bolted through both the floor and the rear bulkhead with spreader plates. Tis in the WIKI under 'beds'. It may not answer all your questions but should give you some idea of my thinking on this one. The little wood I did use, is cosmetic as the underlying structure is a steel cage.

Ahh, great stuff. So the home made seats are ok. I can easily add a few extra fastenings to the seats.
Thanks everyone for the help and advice.
