Windscreen Wiper Arm Springs Weak

Post by Mickyfin »

Hi all, I have noticed of late that the springs in my front, and rear wiper arms appear to be quite weak, thus resulting in hardly any pressure being put on my actual wiper blades to the glass.

My question is, has anyone replaced this spring successfully, or would it be best to just renew the actual wiper arms themselves?

I also have noticed whilst trying to ensure a good contact of my wiper blades to the glass, that the arms are quite weak too, and easily bent.

Thanks in advance.

Never changed them myself but yes the arms are pretty bendable I am not sure the spring puts pressure on the glass just returns them and stops them flying about. I put a slight bend in the are to take up any slack and use spoiler type blades, at least on the drivers side, Then retire it to passenger when I need an new one.

Cheers, its just that even with brand new Bosch wiper blades, Im experiencing areas of the glass that are getting missed for some reason. I have tried the bending slightly approach,. but it still doesn't resolve. I guess I will have to put my hand in my pocket and buy some new arms in the hope that it will resolve my issue, as currently its starting to get quite frustrating.
