JK devon roof seal?!

Post by dugcati »

Right... I need a new roof seal for the tank (the seal that goes round the elevating part)

Looking on JK'sI'm rather confused as they have this:-
http://www.justkampers.com/shop/pop-top ... 13096.html
at £51.00 (10.5M long)

then they have the same thing:-
http://www.justkampers.com/shop/pop-top ... 13095.html
at £26.50 (this is 8.5M long - not sure an extra 1.5M is worth £15.00 but hey ho!)

but they also have a "kit" (not sure what this is they don't really explain what a kit consists of!):-
http://www.justkampers.com/shop/elevati ... 12510.html
The pricing for this on is as follows:-
KIT PRICE: £34.50
BUY AS A KIT & SAVE:
EXCL. TAX: £14.16
INCL. TAX: £16.64
..... add it to my basket and proceed to checkout and it come up as £ 28.75 (no postage added at this point) errr... how is that?!

I'm gonna ring JK on Monday and find out what the right price.....

Does anyone know where else does roof seals for Devons and also what length piece goes round the roof in one go, 8.5M, 10.5M or something else

ta

Schofields have a range of rubber seals for roof, from experience they sent me samples for my bilbo. Here`s the number 01457854267. They`re based near chapel en frith, Glossup, Derbyshire. It`s a nice drive around there.

I bought a seal from them and it was too short. well annoying. They sent me another one though to use for the extra bit. I take it you mean the U shaped bit to go around the edge? If so, it is just a standard automotive trim and you will get it elsewhere a lot cheaper. The JK one is a lot smaller than the original also.

Yes I'm after the u shaped seal round the roof edge not the flat seal on the van under the pop-top

I initially bought one from a guy on ebay that was only long enough to do one side of the van... it was only about 4.5m (whichi s stupidly short!) so after an email or two I sent it back and got my money back
