how much waxoyl?

i recently purchased the cover and waxoyl combo from jk. but when it came the waxoyl was clear and i wanted black for the underneath,but im thinking of keeping it to use in the doors and side panels etc so would 2.5 litres be way too much? i could use it where its not seen and then just buy a refill of black from my local factors.
