Hi guys ive been told that the bolts on the 1Y 1.9 D tighten to
60nm plus 90 degrees
is this correct ?
i have the new bolts to fit
and is the procedure to gradually tighten to 60nm
on the bolts and then turn every bolt gradually though 90 degrees
I want to "make sure" as i dont want to strip out the crank!!!
cheers

Re: 1Y flywheel bolts...how to tighten correctly?
I just checked the factory manual for a 95 golf fitted with 1Y and manual trans (normal flywheel). The flywheel bolts are 60Nm + 90 degrees, and renewed. Fresh bolts also come with an locking compound already applied. It would do no harm to tighten opposing bolts in a couple of steps though I doubt this is as critical as it is for a cylinder head for example.
