Tyres sizes......

Post by filbay »

Hello and Happy New Year ! I have recently bought some used Mercedes alloys for my bus and need to put some tyres on them. I have looked at the Wiki "rolling radius " converter to try and calculate a 16 inch tyre size that will be near in diameter to my stock 14 inch tyres , however what is the profile of a standard 185 x 14 tyre from the drop down list ? Is it 100 or 80 ? Am I right in thinking 205/60 x 16 would be the nearest ? Would be grateful for any advice on this confusing issue ! Thanks.......

185/R14 commercial tyres are either 80 or 82 depending on the manufacturer.

205/60/16's would be perfect on a 7X16 alloys and they are available in commercially rated tyres...not cheap though.

You can get the same size for MPV's in load ratings upto 96.

Or if the alloys are 7.5" wide you could also use 225/55/16's as they are available in load ratings upto 99.

Check http://www.camskill.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for prices.

The profile for the standard tyre is 82.

205/60 are 0.31 % smaller.
