replacement of ignition barrell

Post by thinwhiteduke »

at the moment my 1988 t25 starts using a screwdriver. haqving bought a replacement i thought a quck five minute job to change. i was so so wrong. having taken the plastic off the nigtmare began. Could not see no clips to take of or screws to undo i decided to look on u tube. this guy striped it all off and driled a hole 12mm from left and 10mm up bla bla. great i thought. the only thing is i cannot remove the aluminium casting that holds the barrel unit to the collumn. he did not show this in his video clip. i cannot see what is holding it on i have tried to pull it off but will not budge. it moves round a little but will not come forward to get it off the collumn. i cannot see any clips. is it just stuck or have i missed something.

UPDATE. just finished i now have an ignition with a key. the housing was just very tight. great video on u tube with the info about the hole to release the clip to allow unit to slip out. all you T25 owners when you do a job on your T25 video it and stick it on you tube as it helps idiots like me LoL.
