Blowers

Post by Trunkster »

Hi guys. Got a 1980 air cooled so I dont have a fan up front. I have heat coming from the vents but hardly any air movement. I have laged all the air ducts but it didn't realy help. I followed the advice and was about to purchase a builge fan of ebay.£20 ish to put inline in the ducting to help move the air. I was then recomended to use a 12v fan off a computer which is much quieter. I went upto macro and got one for £10. It took a while to make an adapter as the fan is square and the pipe is round and fit it behind the front grill. It did work and yes it was very quiet but it hardley moved any air. It wouldnt even blow a piece of toilet paper off the vent so I went back to plan A and bought the builge blower. Because it is desighned to go directly into a round pipe it only took 2 mins to fit a 2 mins to resolder the wire. It now blows like a hair drier. Lots of air movement and to be honest not too loud. I just turn the radio up!! :ok
If in doubt give it a clout!

just fit the dashboard blower out of the higher spec air cooled vans or use a inline blower available from bluebird customs but at a price
