Front bumper bolts?
Hi does anyone know where I can get new front bumper mounting bolts for the plastic type bumpers. All I need are the two that are visible from the front of the van. Thanks

Re: Front bumper bolts?
There are not needed on the rears.
The big bumper brackets are mounted to the inside of the bumper centre section, the corners of the bumper are mounted on the centre section and the whole lot is slid into place on the bus. The brackets are then secured by the four large bolts on the chassis rails.
Then the corners (ends) of the bumper are secured by a couple of brackets.
Take a look at my earlier thread for more details - https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... g+bumpers+

Re: Front bumper bolts?
As brilliant as that thread is it won't work for me as I'm fitting reproduction GRP items and they're substantially thicker than the stock items hence they will not fit around the rear support bar. So I have to find another way to mount this lot at the back!

Re: Front bumper bolts?
You could either:
Modify the big bumper brackets
or
Use the front bumper bolts and mount the rear bumper the same way as the front.

Re: Front bumper bolts?
Yeah I was thinking that but I want to hide the fact that they're there so I might have to get a counter sunk screw with the same thread as the front bumper bolts and bury it with some filler and paint over when I respray the van.
I dont even know where to get all that bracketery from! Thanks for the help with this one!!

Re: Front bumper bolts?
There are some Big bumper brackets on ebay.de.
VW Classic Parts do some of the brackets and VW still do other bits.
