Tappets (tick tick)

Hi
Im not sure what to do next, when the van starts its like a sewing machine smoth and quiet but after 10/15 mins of running she starts to tick and knock well more of a tick tick than a knock. I ajusted the tappets 1 1/2 turns when the engine was warm with out much change. I did try and set the tappets at 1 1/4 turns but she wouldnt start. Its a 1.9 DG any help

when was the last oil change?
did you use 20/50 15/40 mineral?

unless it's a loud tack tack noise you might have a lazy lifter, in that the return spring is worn out

is it just one tappet that ticks?... and always the same one?

I changes the oil and filter today with 15/40 miniral befor i reajusted the tappets, Its a recon engine and been tapping since it was fitted its now done 1300miles. It seems to be coming from the pasenger side of the engine

Speak to the supplier/installer BEFORE messing with it ... presumably it's still under warranty ?
