MASSIVE THANKS!!!

Post by jed the spread »

Just want to give a massive thanks to Si, Tomanytoys and Oorwullie.

Most of you know V-lux Al, well he got his van done over in the French Alps a couple of days ago. The scumbags nicked a few choice items as well as smashing his cab windows and bent his windscreen wipers and leaving him with a very cold van. He asked me to find him a solution so Si was the obvious choice with his french contacts who then put me onto Oorwullie, who knows a place 100km away that turns out can deliver for a couple of Euro.

So, windows are on their way to him as I type and all has ended well and Al & Harriet can carry on their merry way well into the new year through the help of fellow Syncronauts.

Thanks Guys :ok

I will do a better write up when i get back, but for now here's a few pics of what the van looked like the morning after....

http://www.flickr.com/photos/83157566@N ... 471858245/

The resort in question here is Serre Chevalier, but i would like to say that its my hunch that whoever did it wasn't from the resort itself. Turns out a load of other cars around the village all had their wing mirrors torn off, don't think any others were ransacked, but then they probably couldn't carry much else after emptying the van. Couldnt even carry the alcohol, they left that in the snow.

Best bet is that it was no hope, chav scum teens from Briançon out on a drunken bender. I'm a believer in karma so i'm sure they'll get what's coming to them eventually.

The trip so far has been amazing and to be honest, even this happening hasn't put a downer on it. We are both fine and having a right laugh regardless.

Massive thanks to everyone involved in helping us find somewhere to get the glass, its a very reassuring feeling knowing that even when far far from home there's always help not too far away. Harriet has asked me to express her personal thanks to you all and I owe you all a beer or ten. Really, we don't know how to thank you all enough. :ok

Oorwullie, you never know, i 'might' even pop by and take that towbar off you......if i'm not completely skint by the time we leave here. Ive been eyeing it up on a few occasions

Toomanytoys, thanks for your messages etc, and making the connection that solved things, much appreciated!

You'd need a syncro to drive to my van right now too. We've had about another 40cm since this pic from this morning!!
