injection pump testing
hi. people. does anyone out there know of a way to test a 1600 diesel injector pump, pref cheap. regards spannered

You are obviously getting fuel into the cylinders which points to the pump working. If you have compression, you say timing is correct, fuel in cylinders (evidenced by the smoke) the only thing you are lacking is the help from the glow plugs.
It may help if you were to detail what has lead to this situation - rebuild, new belt, etc.

hi. thanks for that. the only diference is that i had the injectors referbed. from this i presumed that the extra effort on the pump means that it is not performing as it should.
